2017 GE DAY - CARDBOARD BOAT
These small cardboard sail boats were designed for the 2017 GE Day activity at the Imagine Nation Museum. Visitors were able to watch the museum's Epilog Laser Cutter fabricate the boat's cardboard and foam parts
before assembling them at the activity table. A variety of highly visible and artistic tapes were used to seal all the seams to make them seaworthy.
Once complete, the boats were tested and raced in the water table with a little help of an electric fan.
Limited time only. Make your boat today at the Imagine Nation, A Museum Early Learning Center

CORK WINE CHARMS
The Imagine Nation hosted its second annual From the Vine, Wine Tasting Event. This year attendees received a complementary "build your own" wine charm featuring the museum's pinwheel logo. Guests also had the opportunity to purchase 4 other wine charms designed specifically for the event.
The 1" diameter wine charms were made punched from 3/16" thick cork sheet and the graphics were etched using the museum's laser engraver. To make engaging easier a 3D printed fixture was used to position the cork discs repeatably.
Oh, using the laser to cut cork is a bad idea. It's great for engraving, bad for cutting. Use a knife, scissors, or a punch to cut cork.

THE MINI 2-STRING GUITAR
Debuting in May 2017, this Mini 2-String Guitar is designed for the Imagine Nation's Celebration of Music & Dance month. Visitors will be able to build their own working mini instrument made from laser cut cardboard and a rubber band. No need for glue or fasteners, the elastic band holds it all together. (size: 6" x 2.5" x 1.3")
WINTER 2016 - GE MAKERS LAB
As the winter season approached it was time to develop a new activity for the GE Makers Lab. The Monkey Robot Factory designed a corrugated reindeer for visitors to assemble and decorate.
